Concert this Saturday in East London

Woodford Symphony Orchestra will give the first performance of my work Woodford Suite (Op 42) at a concert this Saturday, 25 June at 7:45pm, at Barnado's Church, Barkingside, Essex IG6 1QG.

Also in the concert will be:

Borodin: In the Steppes of Central Asia
Smetana: Vltava
Holst: Suite in E flat
Weber: Overture Der Freischütz

Woodford Symphony Orchestra is a largely amateur group that gives concerts in the Borough of Redbridge.

The concert is in aid of Saint Francis Hospice. Tickets are £8 or £7 (concessions) or £3 (children under 12). Includes a free glass of wine.Tickets available on the door. Box office and enquiries: 020 8504 7783 or 020 8519 6491.

The venue is a few minute's walk from Barkingside Station on the Central Line. You can see the church opposite as you reach the end of the Station Approach, but (annoyingly) you have walk a long way round to get into it, turning right on to Tanners Lane and walking  past the modern (concrete) Barnado's HQ to get to the entrance to Barnado's Village and into the church.

So if you like classical music and have nothing else to do on Saturday evening and are within reach of East London, it would be lovely to see you. The concert is in aid of a good cause.
